SNC Ends Low Water Conditions
South Nation Conservation (SNC) has terminated Level I Low Water Conditions issued on August 29th, 2019 across its entire watershed in Eastern Ontario.
Overall precipitation this summer was at least 20% below normal causing minor drought conditions across the SNC watershed. However consistent amounts of rain throughout October has helped to alleviate the Low Water Conditions and restore stream flows back to normal levels.
SNC works with its 16 partner municipalities to monitor stream flow, precipitation and water supply through the provincially-mandated Low Water Response program. SNC will continue to monitor watershed conditions and will provide updates as required.
To better understand local conditions; landowners, businesses, and industries are encouraged to contact SNC if they are experiencing any unusual water-related problems.
