Greely Gets a Clean-up at the 10th Annual South Nation Cache-In-Trash-Out!
Every spring, enthusiastic volunteers participate in South Nation Conservation’s (SNC) annual Cache-In-Trash-Out (CITO) community clean-up event. Hosted in partnership with the Geocachers of Eastern Ontario, nearly 70 volunteers worked together to clean-up pre-selected sites across the town of Greely in the City of Ottawa on April 27, 2019, collecting over 45 bags of garbage and recycling. Notable finds included an old car bumper, a metro news bin, and a barbeque. Held in different communities across SNC’s jurisdiction each spring, CITO events encourage residents to tidy-up their local environment, while searching for hidden geocaches in the area. SNC currently offers 3 Geopassports for watershed residents and visitors to enjoy; visit www.nation.on.ca/recreation/geocaching to learn more!
