The Ottawa Rural Clean Water Program (ORCWP) improves water quality in the City of Ottawa by partnering with landowners to reduce the risk of contaminating water from non-point source pollution. The program provides funding to support the voluntary implementation of projects that help protect surface water and groundwater. Grants up to $15 000 are available covering 50 to 90 percent of eligible costs. The program is administered by the Rideau Valley, Mississippi Valley and South Nation, and is in partnership with the City of Ottawa and the Ontario Soil and Crop Improvement Association.

- Buffers, windbreaks and land retirement
- Livestock restrictions from watercourses
- Stream bank stabilization
- Well decommissioning
- Education initiatives
- Controlled tile drainage and outlet protection
- Chemical/fuel storage
- Clean water diversion
- Manure storage and Wash water treatment
- Nutrient management plans
- Precision farming
- Grassed waterways
